Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 13, 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect on lacasadepickleball.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be understood without help: if anything is unclear, write to us and we will explain it.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is La Casa de Pickleball LLC, 700 53rd Ave N, Saint Petersburg, Florida 33703, United States.
For anything relating to this policy or to your personal data, write to us at lacasadepickleball@gmail.com.
What we collect, and when
When you write to us through the contact form
- Your name and your email address.
- The type of enquiry you select and the message you send us.
- If your enquiry is about lessons: your playing level, your goals, the location and dates you prefer, and how you would like us to reply.
- The date the message was received.
The message is stored in our content management system, and a notification email is also sent to La Casa de Pickleball so that we can reply to you.
We run an automatic filter that marks messages with certain characteristics as likely spam. A flagged message is never discarded or rejected: it is stored, notified and read just the same.
When you subscribe to the newsletter
- Your email address.
- The language you were browsing in and the page you subscribed from.
- The date you subscribed.
Today, subscribing does not include an email confirmation step, and there is not yet an automatic unsubscribe link. To leave the list, or to have your address deleted, write to us at lacasadepickleball@gmail.com and we will do it.
When you browse the site
We use two analytics tools, Vercel Web Analytics and Umami, to understand which pages are read and which content is useful. Neither sets cookies, and neither builds a profile of you. What they record is:
- The pages you visit and the site you arrived from.
- Your browser language and the type of device and browser you use.
- An approximate country-level location derived from your IP address.
Your IP address is used, together with your browser details, to generate a session identifier through a hash function. It is not stored as such.
We do not store card or payment details. If you buy something, the payment is handled by an external provider — Stripe for payments from the United States, PayPal elsewhere — which receives those details directly; we never see or keep them. There are no user accounts and no passwords on this site either.
Cookies
This site sets exactly one cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, which remembers whether you prefer to read it in Spanish or in English. It is a functional cookie: without it the site cannot remember your language choice. You can delete it from your browser settings.
We use no advertising, tracking or profiling cookies, which is why this site shows no cookie consent banner.
Alongside that cookie, the site stores your light or dark mode preference in your browser’s local storage. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to any server, and it says nothing about you — it only stops the page changing appearance every time you open it. You can clear it from your browser settings.
Some embedded third-party content, such as YouTube or Vimeo videos and the Instagram posts on the home page, may set its own cookies when you interact with it or play a video. Those cookies belong to those platforms and are governed by their policies, not by this one.
What we use your data for
- To answer your enquiry and, where relevant, arrange lessons. The legal basis is your own request and the steps you ask us to take with it.
- To send you the newsletter, if you subscribed. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To understand in aggregate which content is useful, and improve the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether what we publish is worth publishing.
We do not make automated decisions producing legal effects concerning you, and we do not build profiles from your data.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We share it only with the providers we need in order to run the site, and only as far as they need it:
- Vercel — site hosting and web analytics.
- Sanity — the content management system, where contact messages and newsletter subscriptions are stored.
- Resend — sending the notification email when someone writes to us.
- Umami — cookieless analytics.
- Stripe and PayPal — process payments and receive card or PayPal account details directly. Stripe for purchases from the United States, PayPal elsewhere.
- Meta (Instagram) — the feed on the home page is fetched from Instagram, and its images are served from Meta’s servers.
- YouTube and Vimeo — playback of the videos embedded on the site.
Affiliate links
When you click an offer, we send you to the merchant’s site through a link of our own. We record that a click happened and which offer it was, not who you are.
From the moment you arrive at the merchant’s site, that merchant’s privacy policy applies rather than ours, including any cookies it sets.
Where your data is processed
La Casa de Pickleball LLC is established in the United States, and the providers listed above process data principally in the United States. If you write to us from Spain or any other country in the European Economic Area, your data is transferred outside it.
How long we keep your data
- Contact form messages: for as long as they are needed to deal with your enquiry and to keep a record of it.
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you.
- Analytics data: in aggregate, without identifying you.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Give you access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct it, if it is inaccurate.
- Delete it.
- Stop using it, or restrict how we use it.
- Give you a copy of the data you provided to us.
- Withdraw your consent, where the processing relies on it.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at lacasadepickleball@gmail.com. We will reply within the period required by the rules that apply to you.
If you live in the European Economic Area and believe we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the supervisory authority in your country. In Spain this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).
Children
This site is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS. Access to the content management system where messages and subscriptions are stored is limited to named accounts belonging to specific people, which can be revoked individually.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date shown at the top of this page. Material changes to how we handle your data will be announced on the site itself.
